Hae Won Sohn is a visual artist living and working between New York City and Baltimore.
Through her educational background in ceramics, Sohn’s material-centric practice diverges into a methodology that enjoys invention in transition. Her work is an active research of building extractive forms, furthermore a nonlinear narrative study that develops dimensions, fragility, and aggregation through hand-made processes and its digital translations.
Primarily engaging with materials such as plaster, clay, aluminum and more; Sohn's practice and studio-artifacts generated through which become evidence of a system built upon deconstruction, reconstruction, and failure as a parallel model to the conventional notion of success.
