Caroline Labouchere is an Ex-Army wife and a mother of two grown children. But at 53 years old her life took a turning point, starting a new career as a model and an ambassador for her generation.
You became a model at 53, and have since worked with some amazing brands. Did this mark a turning point in your life and how (if so) have you changed?
I was 53 when I got my first paid modelling job. Without doubt this filled me with huge confidence. I still had a life ahead of me. A life that could be better and more exciting than my previous 50 years. Yes, I have changed. I am more confident.
Do you have advice for other women looking to take a leap of faith?
Ask: What do you want out of life? Speak to people and listen to audio books to see if the match can be lit inside you. Everyone has a passion, but finding it isn’t always easy. Just remember it is in there.
A piece of advice you would have given your younger self, or have given your daughter Mimi?
Live life. The good and bad things I did when I was younger have shaped me. I wouldn’t change a thing. On the basis that you have to make your own mistakes, we encouraged Mimi to live life her way. The advice Mimi would tell you I gave her is ‘less is more’.
You have gone on a journey of self love. What do you love most about yourself now?
I love that I am still learning and on an exciting journey of self discovery.
