Van Cleef and Arpels appointed Bouguessa to design new uniforms for their male and female sales associates and boutique managers for their boutiques across the UAE. The work consisted of creating luxury garments to suit the Middle Eastern market and simultaneously to reflect the French maison’s image.
After a first meeting where the different guidelines were discussed, our Creative director, Faiza Bouguessa, started exploring inspiration and various concepts. The criteria: a dark color palette and elegance with a touch of innovation in the design to reflect the two brands common aspects. Faiza thought of taking the iconic clients of Van Cleef and Arpels, such as Maria Callas or Princess Grace of Monaco, as virtual witnesses to ensure she offers VC&A the finest and most distinguished design options that honors the maison’s prestige and to ensure satisfaction of the high-profile clientele.
After presenting a couple of design options, the management of Van Cleef and Arpels selected 3 different styles for the female staff and a sharp suit for the male staff. With the core design agreed, a selection of samples was tried and tested using premium quality fabrics in accordance with the garment’s purpose and Van Cleef’s specifications. The uniforms were produced in our workshop to ensure consistency in the precision of the cuts and impeccable finishing.
Van Cleef and Arpels will implement the new uniforms this September 2016 starting with the UAE boutiques.
The final uniforms offer a subtle nod to the brand's partnership with Bouguessa with their clean cuts and refined fabric contrasts.
